Meet Steph

Curious adventurer and totally obsessed with açai.

From 2016-2019, Steph travelled to the Amazon region of Pará in Northern Brazil, once a year to understand the intricacies of the açai chain, whilst learning what makes a good harvest and an even better product. She learnt the best practices for processing and saw first hand what the social and environmental impact açai consumption was having on a local level. Not a year went by without putting up a "rede" (hammock) at the back door of one of our açai suppliers. To this day, and many açai bowls later, it's still the passion that drives the mission to bring the best açai to market, in the most sustainable way.

In 2019 Steph left London to dig a little deeper and lived 6 months in the Amazon territories, engaging  industry stakeholders to understand how, as a buyer and consumer, Boa Vida could positively influence the future açai supply chain.

It was in 2020 right at the start of the pandemic, Steph embarked on a journey of agroforestry, studying particular systems of regenerating forests under the teachings of Ernst Gotsch and his students. Whilst the world stopped spinning, we planted, we observed,we learnt and we left the environment around her better than when we'd arrived.
